collaborative Director of Children and Family Ministries who has a passion for discipleship
among children (birth – grade 5) and their families. The Director will partner with parents,
grandparents, and adult volunteers to help children experience God’s love and grow into

FUMC has an established children and family ministry in a large and vibrant congregation in
Wilson. This position will build on that existing program and will expand the ministry to
encompass holistic spiritual nurture of our children and families within the church and in the
community. The Director of Children and Family Ministries will be part of a team with support
personnel and volunteers from our community. The work schedule will be a flexible 40 hours
per week, with responsibilities on Sundays, Christian holy days, some evenings, and some
weekends.

The primary focus of the Director of Children and Family Ministries is to lead students and their
families to develop a strong Christian faith in the United Methodist tradition by building and
supporting teams of adult volunteers to teach, mentor and sustain ministry activities. These
activities include weekly Sunday morning classes, Sunday evening classes, special fellowship
events, community service and missions. For more information, see the job description.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Please send a letter of interest and
