CONTEMPORARY SERVICE
First UMC offers a Contemporary style service each Sunday morning at 9:00 am in Asbury Hall. Those who enjoy a more casual atmosphere with an upbeat praise band will love this service.
TRADITIONAL
SERVICE
First UMC also offers a Traditional style service each Sunday morning at 11:00 am in our Sanctuary. Those who enjoy a more formal church setting with hymns and beautiful organ and piano accompaniment will prefer this service.

FUMC Family Dinner & Christmas Celebration

Our annual Family Christmas dinner is fast approaching and we wanted to send you one more email to remind you! The deadline to sign up is this Sunday, November 24. Please note, this is earlier than our usual deadlines for Wednesday Night Dinner as we need to have a headcount to the caterer a week in advance. We will have 2 seatings with a sweet performance by the weekday school children at 6pm in between the two dinner services. There will also be visits with Santa (for children or adults!) a hot cocoa bar and activities for children in other areas of the church. We hope you'll be able to make it to celebrate the birth of Jesus together with your church family. You can sign up using the links below or by calling the church office (252.237.6121). Payment can be made via cash, check, or venmo.

The images from communities affected by Hurricane Helene are heartbreaking to say the least. The devastation from the flooding in western North Carolina shared in pictures and news stories is beyond imagination. The impact from this storm will be felt for a long time. Recovering from floods is a lengthy process that goes through many stages.
The role of churches, the UMC, and specifically First UMC is integral in providing not only monetary and tangible assistance, but compassionate ministry during this long recovery. We, at FUMC, are planning both short term and longer-term efforts to assist.
